The Desert Botanical Garden opened its new evening lantern exhibit this week, combining illuminated art installations with the garden’s existing collection of desert plant species for a limited seasonal run.
The exhibit, designed by a rotating group of local and visiting artists, is timed to take advantage of cooler evening temperatures and has quickly become one of the garden’s most requested seasonal programs.
“It changes how people see plants they’ve probably walked past a hundred times,” said exhibit curator Marisol Vega. The exhibit runs on select evenings through early fall.
