A new community health clinic opened its doors on the city’s eastside Monday, the culmination of a two-year fundraising campaign led by a coalition of local nonprofits and healthcare providers.
The clinic will offer sliding-scale primary care, dental services, and behavioral health counseling, with a particular focus on serving residents without insurance. Organizers say the facility fills a significant gap in a part of the Valley where the nearest comparable clinic was previously more than eight miles away.
“People were skipping care because the drive alone was a barrier,” said clinic director Renata Osei. The clinic will operate six days a week and plans to add pediatric services by early next year.
