For 40 years, Reggie Doss has cut hair from the same corner shop, watching the neighborhood around him change while his chair, mirror, and regular clientele have stayed remarkably constant.
Doss estimates he’s cut hair for three generations of some families, including a handful of clients who first sat in his chair as toddlers and now bring in their own kids.
“People ask when I’m retiring,” Doss said, laughing. “I tell them when the chair breaks.” The shop, largely unchanged since it opened, still charges less than half the going rate at newer barbershops nearby.
